Crazy Al Cayne TV had the opportunity to do a nice video interview with Luciana at the Big Apple Comic Con:
In this video you can see and hear lovely Luciana talk about Caprica and how Battlestar Galactica keeps continuing in a way because of the conventions. She also states that New York is her favorite city ever and she would love to book a series there. Plus, you get a look at some of the photos available for autographs at her table.
Did you know that Luciana appeared in the final four episodes of Everwood? Too bad they’re not available on DVD. She had a really, really lovely part as main character Ephram’s new love interest, Stephanie Meyer. (I know, that name sounds very familiar now, but when those episodes aired in summer 2006, it didn’t.)
And I just noticed that you can watch those episodes at TheWB.com (episodes 19, 20 and 21/22)! Unfortunately, people from outside America can’t seem to access the videos, and apparently most episodes will be taken down by Monday. So hurry up! This is a must-watch.
Luciana Carro as Stephanie Meyer (Everwood)
Here’s what Luciana said about her gig on Everwood when she answered her fans’ questions for an interview at Galactica BS:
I got hired on the show with the intention of being Ephram’s (Gregory Smith) new love interest. I was hoping the series would get picked up for another season but WB decided to go with 7th Heaven instead. We actually shot two different endings for the season finale. One if we got picked up for season 5 and another if we didn’t. Well unfortunately we didn’t get picked up so Ephram got back together with Amy. BOOO!!
Working on Everwood was a great experience! I had so much fun. It was really refreshing for me to play a character like Stephanie. What I loved most about playing her was that she was a lovable character. She was cool and free of bullshit.
Couldn’t agree more! This is certainly one of Luciana’s roles that I enjoy the most. Plus, she looked fabulous.
By the way: As I wrote three months ago, season 4 may or may not be released on DVD. We have yet to hear any news about that. Keep your fingers crossed! And hopefully, those DVDs will include the alternate scenes Luciana mentioned. That would be a real treat.
This time, Luciana shared her opinions on the finale of Battlestar Galactica and the pilot of Caprica, and of course she talked a bit about her own, upcoming part in Caprica. Not surprisingly, she doesn’t give any spoilers about her character, but she does mention how she was cast, what directors she worked with and how happy she is to be an the show.
She also expresses her hope to find a role in a good TV series this pilot season. I wish her a lot of luck and success there – she would certainly deserve another great role!
You can watch more interviews and other great videos on the BSGcast website – these video podcasts are really worth watching! Recent interviews include Michael Trucco, Alessandro Juliani, Kandyse McClure and Mary McDonnell. This is also an excellent opportunity to watch (or rewatch) the first wonderful interview BSGcast did with Luciana.

Speaking of the Kat/Kara scenes in “Scar”: Many of those electrifying moments feature prominently in an amazing fanvid that I found recently.
Vidded by jarrow, “Learn to Crawl” centers on the rocky relationship between Galactica’s Top Guns.
This is an idea I had years ago when first vidding BSG femslash, but I knew I wasn’t ready to make it yet. [...]
To comment on the source, it was such a treat to have actual eyesex to work with instead of having to construct my own. I appreciated that. And them being all up in each other’s faces. And loving golden showers. Thank you, Starbuck and Kat, for boinking for 3 seasons and letting me watch.
…and thank you, jarrow, for this wonderful fanvid! Oh, the eysex… You, gentle readers, can find a download link and some more comments at jarrow’s LiveJournal. And don’t hesitate to let her or us know what you think!
Kara and Kat have a tactical discussion
By the way, “Learn to Crawl” is actually a sequel to jarrow’s “Falling From the Sky“, another impressive Kara-centric fanvid featuring lots of Kat scenes from season1 and 2. That video is a “deeper look at the many pilots Starbuck has failed, including herself”. You can download “Falling From the Sky” and read jarrow’s extensive notes on many of the video’s aspects here at her LiveJournal. Highly recommended!
William McCanless from CoastalEmpire.com let us know he interviewed Luciana at Dragon*Con. And what a nice little interview it is! Luciana compliments William on his footwear, recalls the unglamorous days of shooting Battlestar, and she’s happy to work on yet another “amazing show”.
Hikaruchan is such a blessing for those of us who weren’t able to attend Dragon*Con! A few days ago, she posted the entire Friday Q&A, and now she’s done the same with the Sunday’s Battlestar panel.
This panel consisted of Luciana, Michael Hogan, Richard Hatch, Alessandro Juliani, Kandyse McClure, Mary McDonnell and Kate Vernon.
Part 1:
You should also watch the remaining five parts of the panel. Luciana tells the classic “Crying at LAX” story in part 2, and in the last part she and Mary talk about the shoes Luciana gets to wear on Caprica.
You want to watch Lucci in the role of a tough deputy sheriff (because you think she looks great in uniform, just like probably almost all of her fans do), but you have missed Phantom Racer or don’t want to sit through the entire flick, or both? Or you actually did watch the movie and want to see her scenes again?
Then I have just the thing for you. Because I’ve made clips of all of Luciana’s scenes in this movie, so you can watch her play deputy Monroe right now! You will find download links to the clips in the Phantom Racer media thread on the fanboard, so head over there and get them now!
The only thing I’ve left out are the last few seconds of her last scene because that part is a bit too brutal…
As a bonus, I also made more than 80 screen caps (as addition to the caps Solium made shortly after the movie aired), which you can find in the same thread just below the videos.
How about watching some videos from Dragon*Con? Hikaruchan recorded the entire Friday panel and uploaded the video to YouTube. The participants were Kevin Grazier, Michael Hogan, Alessandro Juliani, Kandyse McClure, Michael Trucco, Kate Vernon – and Luciana in her fantastic blue dress.
Enjoy part 1…
You can find the remaining six parts of the panel at Hikaruchan’s website. Luciana talks about the big reveal in “The Passage” (part 2), she explains that the original cut of “Scar” made Starbuck look much worse and Kat’s reactions more understandable (part 4), and she recalls being taught how to shoot (part 6). Plus, Luciana asks Kandyse about her final scene (part 6).
It’s been three weeks since Luciana’s appearance at Wizard World Chicago Comic-Con. As regular readers know, the following days and weeks were dominated by talk about Caprica and Phantom Racer, and rightly so. But now it’s about time to enjoy some great pictures and videos from the Chicago convention.
Most importantly, Edward James Olmos and Luciana gave a Battlestar talk on the first day of the convention. The Q&A was, of course, where Eddie broke the fantastic news of Luciana’s Caprica gig. Other than that, we hardly know what she said at the panel. Besides, Eddie did most of the talking.

Fortunately, mooremail recorded parts of the panel and uploaded two videos to YouTube.
The following clip covers Luciana and Eddie’s answers to a question about unscripted moments and improvising on Battlestar. Luciana briefly explains how her performance differed from her lines in the scripts. Eddie talks at length about the famous “So Say We All” scene at the end of the miniseries, and how much it meant to everyone involved.
