August has seen a variety of different news about Luciana, from TV premieres to convention appearances around the world:

• August 13, 2003: Luciana guest stars in the episode “No Excuse” of Peacemakers, a television series about forensics experts in the 19th century. In the only version of this episode that is available, her scene was cut, and it is not known whether it was included in the broadcast version or not. (Fanboard discussion)
• August 19, 2005: The episode “Home Part 1” of the second season of Battlestar Galactica premieres on the SciFi Channel. In this episode, Kat participates in an training excercise during which an accident happens that almost kills her. (Fanboard discussion)
• Early August, 2006: The Luciana Carro Fanboard, meeting point for Luccinatics from all over the world, is launched by Solium. You are always welcome to visit the board and join the community.
• August 8-10, 2008: Luciana attends the Galactica 4 convention in London, which is her third appearance in Europe. And as this blog’s editor was present, this convention has a special place in my heart. (Fanboard discussion, media thread)
• August 6-9, 2009: The Wizard World Chicago Comic Con took place, where it was announced that Luciana would appear on Caprica. (coverage of the event on this blog)
• August 22, 2009: Luciana’s first horror movie, Phantom Racer, premieres on Syfy. Luciana plays the tough Deputy Sheriff Monroe. (Phantom Racer posts on this blog)
• August 28-29, 2010: Luciana is a guest at Dallas Comic Con, which took place in Richardson, Texas. (Dallas Comic Con on this blog)
• August 12+19, 2012: The final two episodes of Falling Skies‘ second season, “The Price of Greatness” and “A More Perfect Union”, premiere on TNT with Luciana as resistance fighter Crazy Lee. (Falling Skies posts on this blog)

July anniversaries

Many TV episodes with Luciana premiered in July, and she also attended several conventions:

• July 2 and 9, 2002: The episodes “Isaakland” and “Charity Begins at Home” of the television series The Chris Isaak Show premiere. Luciana plays Tanya, the on/off girlfriend of one of the main characters. (Fanboard discussion).
• July 15 and 22, 2005: The second season of Battlestar Galactica premieres on the SciFi Channel with the episode “Scattered” on July 15, and Luciana returns as Viper pilot Louanne “Kat” Katraine, her most prominent role so far. The story of this episode is continued a week later with “Valley of Darkness”, where Kat and her comrades have to face Cylon centurions aboard Galactica. (BSG section on the Fanboard)
• July 18-19, 2009: Luciana attends Hollywood Show in Burbank, California. (Hollywood Show posts on this blog)
• July 23-26, 2009: The San Diego Comic Con takes place with a lot of Battlestar Galactica and Caprica cast and crew in attendance. Besides Luciana, James Callis, David Eick, Jane Espenson, Kevin Grazier, Richard Hatch, Micheal Hogan, Bear McCreary, Ron Moore, Esai Morales, Edward James Olmos, Tahmoh Penikett, Katee Sackhoff and Raya Yarbrough visited the event. Luciana as Crazy Lee in Falling Skies

June has always been a rather busy month, with many TV premieres and convention appearances:

• June 2003: The shooting of short film Passageway took place in Vancouver. Luciana plays a lead character in this film, a production that is very different from all her other projects (discussion).
• June 2, 2004: The pilot episode of television series The Collector, in which Luciana has a guest appearance, airs (discussion).
• June 23, 2004: This day sees the theatrical release of White Chicks, a comedy featuring Luciana as a waitress (discussion, screencaps).
• June 5, 2006: “Foreverwood”, the final two-parter of Everwood airs in the United States, concluding the storyline of Luciana’s character and the series itself (discussion, screencaps).
• June 13, 2007: Luciana guest stars in the episode “Party Hardy” of short-lived TV series Hidden Palms (discussion).
• June 4, 2008: Luciana posted her current demo reel on MySpace. The video i’s not only great promotion for Luciana. Including several scenes from various projects and showcasing her range of acting abilities within only a few minutes, the demo reel is mandatory viewing for every Luccinatic (discussion, file currently offline).
• June 19-21, 2009: The Wizard World Philly took place in Philadelphia with a lineup of guests that included Luciana and her cast mates Nicki Clyne, Michael Hogan and Edward James Olmos (Wizard World Philly on this blog).
• June 26-28, 2009: Luciana attends the Trek Expo in Tulsa, Oklahoma, her second convention appearance within only two weeks. (Trek Expo posts on this blog)
• June 11-13, 2010: Luciana is media guest of honor at the Convention du Lac in Lake Charles, LA (Con du Lac posts on this blog)
• June 18-20, 2010: Florida Supercon takes place in Miami, FL. This is Luciana’s second convention in Florida. (Supercon posts on this blog)
• June 17+24, 2012: Luciana’s first two episodes of the science fiction series Falling Skies premiere. Luciana plays Crazy Lee, a tough resistance fighter. (Falling Skies posts on this blog)

Luciana in Murder at the Presidio

While May has been a rather quiet month, there were a few interesting TV premieres and convention appearances:

• May 2, 2005: Made-for-television movie Murder at the Presidio premieres in the US, starring Luciana as Corporal Diana Phillips. The movie is based on the true story of a homicide on a military base (discussion, screencaps).
• May 12, 2005: Luciana guest stars in the episode “The Invincible Sword” of the Canadian adventure series Young Blades (discussion, screencaps).
• May 22, 2006: The episode “Reckoning” of the successful TV show Everwood introduces Luciana’s character, Stephanie Meyer. Stephanie is the love interest of Ephram Brown in a story arc that spans the last four episodes of the series (discussion, screencaps).
• May 7-10, 2009: Luciana attended the second Propworx BSG auction in Pasadena, including a Q&A with cast mates Grace Park, Kate Vernon and Michael Trucco. One of the highlights was when Luciana was given a nameplate of her Viper (Prop Auction II posts on this blog).
• May 15-17, 2009: The Motor City Comic Con took place in Novi, a suburb of Detroit, Michigan. Fellow Battlestar Galactica actors Michael Hogan and Aaron Douglas were also in attendance (Motor City Comic Con posts on this blog).

April anniversaries

April has only seen few movie releases and TV premieres, but on the other hand there were several interesting convention appearances:

• April 28-29, 2012: Luciana is a guest at the Toulouse Game Show, her first convention appearance in France. (TGS posts on this blog)
• April 30-May 2, 2010: Several actors from Battlestar Galactica, including Luciana, attend FedCon, Germany’s largest sci fi convention. This was Luciana’s second visit to Germany, the first time was for the Wolf Crossroads convention in November 2007. (FedCon posts on this blog)
• April 17-19, 2009: The Chiller Theatre Expo takes place in Parsippany, New Jersey, and Luciana is one of the star guests. (Chiller posts here on the blog)
• April 4, 2009: Luciana attended the Frank & Son Collectible Show in California.
• April 4-5, 2008: Luciana was a special guest at BSGcast in Las Vegas, where she joined Matt and Nat from the excellent video blog series BSGcast, as well as 100 other fans, in celebrating the premiere of Battlestar Galactica’s last season.
• April 25, 2006: Dr. Dolittle 3 was released on DVD in the United States. Luciana co-stars as a confident girl who excels at horseback riding while staying at a dude ranch. (discussion, screencaps)
